sduhv (sduhv) asked a question.

Self Service Password reset not working in OKTA, but User can reset by logging into OKTA

Hello Guys,

I am facing an issue with one of my customers and I would require your help and expertise to troubleshoot the issue in the right direction to the get the solution.

User is trying to Reset the password via Self password reset services and upon updating the old and renew password and the security question, it is throwing me an error stating, please contact administrator.

But when the user is logged into OKTA and resetting the password, it works successfully. I am bit confused here can someone guide me to understand this is feature problem or a license issue.

Note: Password reset is happening successfully from AD.

You'll need to review the password policies that apply to the specific affected users and make sure that "self-service password reset" is enabled for them.  As you can see in the below screenshot, there's a difference between allowing users to "change the password" and "self-service password reset" .
