Overview
Slack API authentication flow fails with one of the following errors visible in the Okta Admin dashboard:
Error validating instance configuration: The credentials used to connect to the API were invalid; please check your configuration

Cause
Solution
Follow the steps or video below.
- Go to Okta Admin Console and navigate to Applications > Applications > Slack > Provisioning > Integration > click the Edit button.

Click Re-authenticate with Slack. The Slack application opens in a new window.

Sign in to Slack with valid credentials and click Authorize. The Slack window closes, there should be a return to the Okta Admin Console, and the message "Slack was verified successfully!" appears.

Click Save.
