NetSuite API Error "The credentials used to connect to the API were invalid; please check your configuration"

Overview

When enabling NetSuite API integration, the following error is visible in the Okta dashboard:

The credentials used to connect to the API were invalid; please check your configuration.
 

Error Message

  • NetSuite
  • Provisioning
Cause
This error is generated because the NetSuite credentials used for creating the API connection are invalid or/and the NetSuite account that is in use does not have the correct permissions in NetSuite.
 
Solution

  1. Go to Okta Admin Console and navigate to Applications > NetSuite > Provisioning > Integration > click the Edit button.

  2. Type the correct NetSuite credentials for the API and click Test API credentials.

  1. A message that confirms the successful authentication will appear. Click Save.

  2. If the issue persists, please get in touch with NetSuite support for more details and steps on how to resolve this error.
