Okta Browser Plugin Shortcut Remap

Hi,

could you please implement, or can I somehow change the shortcut for Okta Browser Plugin activation?

I am using a Firefox-based browser and I have an issue. Firefox-based browsers have hard-coded shortcuts. One of them is Cmd + Shift + O, which also the Okta Browser Plugin uses.

I find the shortcut feature immensely useful; however, I cannot find a way to remap it so it works well with Firefox-based browsers.

How can I solve this issue? Is there any site within Okta ecosystem I can use to create a feature request?

Kind Regards

Hi @Ond≈ôej≈†.82828 (Customer) , Thank you for reaching out to the Okta Community!

I'm not sure how much of this would be in the purview of Okta, but you can suggest this as a Feature Enhancement on the Okta Community page by going to the Community→ Ideas tab. Features suggested in our community are reviewed and can be voted and commented on by other members. High popularity will increase the likelihood of it being picked up by the Product Team and it being implemented.

    More details here.

As far as I can see, you can change the mapping as per the Mozilla docs. I tested it and confirmed I can use a different mapping instead of Cmd + Shift + O for the Okta Verify Plugin but I cannot revert the change as it conflicts with the Firefox defaults.

If my answer helped, remember to mark it as best to increase its visibility for other members of the Okta Community who might have the same questions as you.

    Hope my answer helps!

  • Hi @Mihai N. (Okta, Inc.), You are Amazing! Your solution works! Thank you so so much for your answer and help! :))

I have managed to change the shortcut using the Mozilla docs you have provided.

Your answer helped. Thank you so much!

    Kind Regards

P.S. In case the Mozilla documentation disappears: The solution is to go to `Settings -> Extensions and Themes -> Extensions -> Settings wheel -> Manage Extension Shortcuts` and make the change of shortcut for the plugin there
