Users with non-ASCII character names cannot be imported from ServiceNow

We are using ServiceNow UD to integrate user accounts.

We want to import some users from ServiceNow into Okta.

However, users with first names that begin with non-ASCII characters are not listed in Import Results.

It seems that if the first name starts with an ASCII character, the user will be listed.

The number of imported users need review is the same in both cases.

 

e.g.

"太郎 山田" -> FAIL

"Taro Yamada" -> PASS

"Taro 山田" -> PASS

"a太郎 山田" -> PASS

 

Is there any other solution than changing the user's first and last name to alphabetical characters?

Or is it a problem with the display process of the listings?

    it can import Chinse first name and lastname from ldap to Okta. I think it is not non-ASCII issue.

    Could you provide the import logs. what's the error message in the system log?

    Thank you for your response.

    I tried importing from another ServiceNow instance, and it can import users with names that have non-ASCII characters at the beginning.

    As you say, it may not be non-ASCII issue.

    I can't provide the import log for the case, but I did not see any error messages in the log.

    I will look into this some more to see if there are other causes.
