How to change Name id policy on Okta servicenowUD application

Dear Team,

The default name id attribute for SSO on okta servicenow UD application is "Email address".

This is value used to match a user in service-now after user authentication. We would like to use username as name id attribute rather than default email address. But I couldn't find any place on Okta sign on setting page to update the name id attribute.

Following is the default nameid format from IDP metadata. This needs to be changed to unspecified from email address.

<md:NameIDFormat>urn:oasis:names:tc:SAML:1.1:nameid-format:emailAddress</md:NameIDFormat>

Please guide me to find the place to make these changes on okta servicenow UD app.

Regards,

Murali

The catalog version of the app does not allow SAML settings changes besides the username format and additional attribute statements.

You could try a custom SAML app, but that won't have the Provisioning features.

If my answer helped, remember to mark it as best to increase its visibility for other members of the Okta Community who might have the same questions as you.

    Hope my answer helps!
