z7orx (z7orx) asked a question.

Is there a way to integrate G-Suite with Okta excluding few Apps like GMail,Calendar?

Just exploring if there is a way we can integrate G-Suite with Okta where in we can choose which apps within GSuite can be part of integration.

The authentication to GMail & Calendar will be handled from Google end and the applications like G-Docs, Sheets, etc can be authenticated via Okta.

  • Thank you for reaching out to Okta, Ovidiu here with Customer Support team!

Regarding your question, the granularity of choosing which application within G Suite can be integrated with Okta via SAML 2.0 cannot be achieved, as the integration is done based on the G Suite domain. Once that domain is federated with Okta, all the applications within the G Suite library of that particular domain will be accessed through the new IdP, and users will be redirected to sign in with this IdP account credentials.

You would only have the option in Okta for G Suite to choose which applications from G Suite will be available for users, as perhaps for example you would only need G Mail and not Drive in your organization.

If you have other questions or need more details regarding G Suite integration with Okta, you can also open a ticket with us and we will help you in any way we can!

Thanks for the response! That helps.

May be we can try something from Google end to exclude Gmail from federation?
