ubq7i (ubq7i) asked a question.

Configure authentication fallback Jira / Confluence

Hello Okta community,

i tried to open a support case for one of our customers. We as company are Atlassian Platinum Partner, but it seems without a license its not possible to create a support case.

The last chance I see here is the community, who can hopefully help me.

I did read already: https://saml-doc.okta.com/Provisioning_Docs/Okta_Jira_Authenticator_Configuration_Guide.html

Could please somebody can explain how to bypass the okta sso authentication? We want a possibility to login with a user that belongs to the internal directory and so we need a fallback url for internal users.

Could please somebody can explain how to configure this please, a example would be very appreciated.

Best,

Max

  • Hi Max,

Vlad here from Okta Customer Support.

Upon investigating this, the possible ways to bypass the Okta Sign On are, as presented in the Okta Jira Authenticator 3.x Configuration Guide:

    • Prevent authentication with SAML for users with specific IP addresses
    • Prevent authentication with SAML for users by username
    • Prevent authentication with SAML for users by group name
    • Prevent authentication with SAML for JIRA resources with specific URL pattern (spUrls block)
    •

In order to setup a specific username pattern that can later be specified in the "<spUsers>" section of the okta-config-jira.xml file, we recommend contacting Atlassian Support. If you require any additional information or you have any more questions please let me know.

    Thank you,
