Okta Admins can receive Okta communications for Trust Incidents, release notes, or scheduled system updates. Okta users without Okta Admin permissions cannot access the Admin Dashboard and are, therefore, unable to configure to receive Okta communications.
This article describes three methods for non-admin end users to receive Okta communications.
- Okta Communications
- End-users
By design, Okta communications are only available to Okta Administrators. However, it is possible for non-admin end-users to receive these communications using one of the following methods:
- Create an Okta Admin account using a Distribution List as the primary email address. The admin team may configure the Distribution List to include any users desired.
- Create a forwarding rule on an existing Admin user that forwards Okta communication emails to a Distribution List.
- Utilize the RSS feed on Okta Status Page to send emails for RSS feed updates.
NOTE: as of April 10, 2025, the functionality to subscribe to Trust Notification emails from Okta has moved to the Okta Status Page. New Super Admins defined for an Org are not subscribed to these email notifications by default. Super Admins and Admins who have been assigned a role that gives them the Case Admin Permission can sign in and subscribe to these email notifications. For more information, please see Subscribing to Trust Notification Emails from the Okta Status Page.
