How is the Telephony Usage Report utilized?

The primary tool to review telephony usage in an Okta tenant is the Telephony Usage Report. This report provides data on the organization's telephony events within a specified time period. Filter the report by Voice or SMS events and identify usage trends over time. Reference the knowledge article How To Generate A Telephony Usage Report To Check How Many Messages Are Sent Through Okta for more information on generating this report.

NOTE: When the Okta telephony service is inactive, Okta Verify Enrollment continues to work through Okta telephony providers regardless of Bring Your Own Telephony (BYOT) configurations via the telephony inline hook. This usage still appears in the Telephony Usage Report and System Log.

How is the System Log used to track telephony events?

The Okta System Log provides another option to track telephony usage. Query SMS and Voice events for a deeper inspection and export the data for further analysis. This helps provide additional insights into when and where telephony events occur. Reference the knowledge article How to View Logs for SMS and Voice Calls for more details on searching the System Log.

How does the MFA Enrollment Report provide telephony insights?

Review the MFA Enrollment Report by user to gain additional insight into SMS and Voice use. This report shows which authenticators each user has enrolled in and filters to list users with phone authenticators (SMS and Voice). Export the list as a Comma-Separated Values (CSV) file for further analysis and tracking. Reference the knowledge article How To Generate The MFA Enrollment Report for more information on generating this report.
