Group Push Relink
Last Updated:
Overview
This article outlines the following scenario involving group push behavior and the limitations of group linking when using rules:
-
Groups are successfully pushed by name.
-
The groups are then unlinked, remaining on the application side but not deleted.
-
A rule is created that should match the groups (for example, "starts with").
-
An attempt is made to relink the groups using the rule; however, the groups do not appear under the Push tab, despite fully matching the rule criteria.
Applies To
- Group Push
- Lifecycle Management
- Group Push by Rule
Cause
Relinking is not supported when using group push-by-rule.
According to the Configure Group Linking documentation, linking is only supported when performing a group push by name. Once a group is unlinked, the system cannot relink it through a rule-based push.
Solution
At this time, the only available solution is to:
-
Delete the group on the application side the moment it is unlinked.
-
Re-push the group using the rule so that it is correctly recreated and linked.
