Overview

When provisioning to Google Workspace, the provisioning flow fails with the following error message:

Automatic provisioning of user <user name> to app Google Workspace failed: Failed to verify that the user exists. Type not supported: userKey

Cause

The error appears when an alias is used within Google Workspace for that email.

Solution

In Google Workspace, confirm that no such user already exists with that email address.
