Overview

Drift provisioning flow fails with the following error visible in the Okta dashboard:

Automatic provisioning of user <username> to app Drift failed: Error while creating user <username>: Internal Server Error. Errors reported by remote server

Applies To
  • Drift
  • Provisioning
  • Error
Cause

When Okta tried to create a specific user, this HTTP 500 Internal Server Error was encountered from the Drift app because Drift's SCIM server could not fulfill a request to create the user on the application side.

Solution
  1. We recommend contacting Drift Support to find out why the Drift SCIM server returned the HTTP 500 Internal Server Error and to assist in implementing a resolution.
  2. After resolving the issue on the Drift side, attempt the user provisioning again. Go to Okta Admin Console and navigate to Dashboard > Tasks. Any failed assignments should appear under Tasks.

Tasks

3. After identifying the failed task for the user that should be retried, click on Retry Selected.
