Overview

The Default application for the Sign-In Widget is a configuration that allows a specific app to be launched on authentication to the Default domain or a Custom Domain.

This differs from the option to Auto-launch the app when user signs into Okta as an auto-launch triggers the app to launch from the dashboard leading to a new tab being opened. 

This option allows the single configured app to launch within the same authentication flow.

Solution

The option to navigate a user by default to a specific app on login are listed below. 

  1. Log into the Admin Console.
  2. Navigate to Customization > Brands > Custom Brand > Pages > Sign in Page > Edit > Settings > Default application for Sign-In Widget.
  3. Click Edit.

  1. The default application can then be selected within the dropdown menu.
  2. Click Save
  3. Test the flow by navigating to the URL this option is configured under and attempt to login.

NOTE: The user is navigated directly to the app within the login flow.
