Overview
The App Integration Wizard (AIW) does not enable System for Cross-domain Identity Management (SCIM) provisioning by default for custom application integrations. Administrators must manually enable the SCIM provisioning option within the application settings to manage user identities.
Applies To
- Okta Identity Engine (OIE)
- Okta Classic Engine
- Custom Applications
- System for Cross-domain Identity Management (SCIM) Provisioning
Solution
What are the steps to enable SCIM provisioning in a custom application?
Create a custom application using the App Integration Wizard and enable the provisioning feature in the general settings.
- Sign in to the Okta Admin Console as a Super Admin.
- Navigate to Applications and Resources, and then select Applications.
- Select Add applications, choose Create custom app, and then select the Classic experience tab.
- Choose the SAML 2.0 or SWA - Secure Web Authentication sign-in method, and click on Next.
NOTE: Enabling SCIM provisioning with a custom OpenID Connect (OIDC) integration is not currently supported.
- Enter the remaining values to complete the application setup.
- Navigate to the General tab of the created application integration.
- Select Edit in the App Settings section.
- Select the SCIM Provisioning option.
- Select Save.
NOTE: If the above Provisioning options do not appear, please refer to The Provisioning Tab Does Not Appear in the App Integration.
