Verifying Legitimacy of Email Sent to User from "Oktaoperations@okta.com"

A user in our organization received the following email from "oktaoperations@okta.com" Our IT is trying to understand if this is legit and why it was sent to the user instead of an admin.

Email received:

"Hello Kim,

Thanks for using Okta. We hope your organization has benefited from Okta and that you'll renew your subscription to ensure service continues without interruption.

Just in case your team hasn't already been in touch with your Okta Renewal Manager, here's how to reach them:

Term End Date: 03-31-2026

Any additional active Okta subscriptions your organization might have are not affected by this upcoming renewal.

Thanks for using Okta. We hope to continue serving you.

Best,

Okta Operations"

  • Hello @ZainabC.26929 (Customer) Thank you for posting on our Community page!

This indeed seems to be an email from the Renewal team. However why that email has been sent to an end user on your side I can not say for sure, maybe that user's email address was given to our renewal team or that user was marked as someone in charge of the renewal process.

I would recommend to reach out to your Account executive at Okta and further discuss this with them.

Thank you for reaching out to our Community and have a great day!
