Hello all,
Currently we are having an issue in our org where users are being deactivated when they are being converted from Contract/EOR to Full Time Employee in Workday. Leads to lots of headaches and requires manually disconnecting the user from Workday on their profile, but that connection comes back in an hour and requires our HR team being more communicative with us than they are.
Anyone have this sort of issue and figure out a way to setup an exclusion group or something else to mitigate this problem? HR reports there is nothing they can do in Workday and we have hit a wall on that.

Going through our docs, it seems that conversion should be possible in a smoother way and is supported, but comes with caveats. Referenced:

If I'm understanding your additional context, the problem stems from a lack of a pre-existing Universal ID that could be leveraged for this.
I'm not sure there's anything that could be done about this without a custom solution (maybe Workflows? ).
I would recommend opening a case to go over the implementation with one of my colleagues from the Okta Support Team, maybe they can provide additional insight.
In the meantime, we'll leave the question open in case anyone else in the Community can provide some additional insight as well.
