When does an Okta Developer instance expire or get deactivated?

’m using an Okta Developer instance for testing and integration purposes, and I wanted to know how long a developer instance stays active before it expires or gets deactivated due to inactivity.

Is there any specific duration or condition (like no logins or API calls for a certain number of days) after which the developer org is automatically deactivated?

Also, is there any way to check the remaining validity or reactivate it once it expires?

Integrator orgs are meant to create, test, and publish apps on OIN, and be used as sandbox/dev environment. They are not intended for use in production environments. Our full service, which includes production-level features, dedicated resources, and professional support, operates on a paid subscription model.

If an OIN app is not submitted, the Integrator org will be deactivated after 180 days of inactivity. You can read more about it here:

Thank you so much for your guidance. Could you please help us to understand why OIN is required? We would also like to know how we can activate it for our instance and whether it involves any cost.
