Agent Update Requirement - Minimum 2 Operational Agents Needed?
Hi,
My client has installed only one Okta AD agent on their Windows server.
Today, when I tried to test an agent update in my trial Okta tenant,
I received a message stating that at least 2 operational agents are required,
and the update did not proceed.
I couldn't find this information in the requirements documentation, so I hadn't informed about this...
Does this mean we won't be able to perform agent updates in the future when needed?
Is it mandatory to install an additional agent?
I would appreciate any guidance on this matter..

Yes, as per our documentation: "To continue using an Okta AD agent and avoid downtime, you must have a minimum of two agents running before you upgrade one of them."

If you do not want to have 2 AD agents running at the same time, you can uninstall the current one and install the latest version. However the AD service will be down for the time that you perform this, and if you are planning to do this I would recommend to do it over the weekend.
