I hold two Okta certifications which were set to expire on 9/25/25 and 9/28/25, respectively. I just took maintenance exams for both certifications and after passing and successfully renewing them, I noticed the expiration date of the renewed certification is 2 years from today's date (August 14) instead of 2 years from the original expiration date.
I just paid $200 for maintenance exams, choosing to proactively renew my professional certifications, and you short changed me by 45 days of effective duration? That's a little over 6% of the 2-year renewal period - that means you are effectively charging me more money over time because I chose not to wait until the last minute to renew.
Other IT certification bodies (CompTIA and GIAC, notably) do not act this way. When I renew my driver's license early my renewal doesn't come up sooner the next year.
Why does Okta do this? This is a ridiculous action to take and should be changed immediately.
