DanaD.34093 (Customer) asked a question.

Okta Desktop MFA and ARM Snapdragon processors

I purchased a Dell XPS laptop with Snapdragon X Plus processor. My company normally uses these laptops with Intel or AMD processors. I've installed the Okta desktop as usual - but instead of getting a push notification to my phone when I sign in, Windows Hello uses Facial Recognition and signs me in immediately. The only difference is that this laptop uses this Snapdragon processor and I was hoping someone could shed some light as to if something needs to be configured differently, or if Okta just doesn't support this processor.

  • Hi @DanaD.34093 (Customer) , Thank you for reaching out to the Okta Community!

I wasn't able to locate any documented limitation for this but I confirmed it with the internal team. Indeed  ODA does not support ARM based devices.

I'll submit an internal request to have our documentation updated accordingly.

In the meantime I recommend reaching out to your Okta Account Executive to discuss impact on your implementation if needed.

If my answer helped, remember to mark it as best to increase its visibility for other members of the Okta Community who might have the same questions as you.

    Hope my answer helps!
