Is MFA SKU required for biometric authentication with Okta FastPass?

I have a question about Okta FastPass and user verification with biometrics (such as Touch ID).

My understanding is that biometric user verification through Okta FastPass can be implemented with SSO SKU alone, without requiring MFA SKU. Is this correct?

If this is accurate, I'd also like to understand what additional value or capabilities MFA SKU would provide in terms of user verification with Okta FastPass. What are the key differences or advantages when adding MFA SKU to this setup?

I cannot speak to what option and features other organizations have enabled. I can only provide answers based on the information mentioned as requirements in the internal documentation pertaining to the required feature flag for the biometric authentication.
As such, I recommend discussing the matter with your Okta Account Executive to review your environment and clarify if this should be include for your specific tenant or not.

If you already have an account with us I recommend reaching out to your Okta Account Executive to see what entitlements you currently have and discuss options for your requirements.
As far as biometrics goes, they are tied to the "MFA" and/or "Adaptive MFA" SKUs, so it will be required.

I have an additional question based on your answer. I've heard that some organizations are able to configure biometric user verification with Okta Verify without having MFA/Adaptive MFA SKUs. Given your confirmation that biometrics are tied to these SKUs, I'm curious about how this aligns with the proper licensing requirements.
