Issues receiving RelayState from SAML login for some Okta apps

We send RelayState as a query string parameter when we direct users to login with Okta via SAML. When we test this with Okta apps we have recently created (Okta org2org, Okta advanced server access, and a normal app created through the `Create New App` feature), we correctly receive the RelayState when users are redirected back to us after the SAML login.

However, we have customers who have created their own Okta apps for SAML SSO with us and we are not receiving RelayState when users are redirected back to us. Is there some configuration in an Okta app that would prevent RelayState from being sent back to the originating service? What else can we look at or try?

Hello @5ta1d (5ta1d) , thank you for contacting Okta Community.

This issue seems too complex to be addressed here. I recommend that you open a Support ticket (Customer Support Account ID number required) so one of our engineers can analyze it and provide in-depth troubleshooting. You could also provide more details in a ticket that shouldn’t be given here, as this is a public space.

Please note that opening a support ticket is a feature available only to paid accounts. If you do not have a paid account, but are interested in upgrading, you can contact our Sales team

    Regards.

Hi, Diana. Thanks for your help. We have tried so many avenues to get support prior to posting here. We are developers with customers who use Okta. We are not a direct Okta customer, so we can't log tickets nor do we have a Customer Support Account ID. How might we go about opening a support ticket for this?

Hi @5ta1d (5ta1d) , in this situation, your account is a free one. Opening support tickets is a feature available to paid accounts.

If one of the companies with paid accounts is willing to do so, they can open a support ticket and ask for one of your free orgs to be linked to theirs.

Otherwise, you may discuss a personalized offer for your needs with our Sales team

      Regards.
