o72ii (o72ii) asked a question.
Trying to follow the instructions
https://support.okta.com/help/s/article/csv-imports-failing-with-error-failed-to-upload-row
but I still can't import a user via CSV.
When creating a user manually, it's mandatory to add a group that I manage. I suspect I need to do that when CSV importing too, but how to do that? There is no tab in the example header for groups, right?
This is my import file:
login,firstName,lastName,email
redacted@gmail.com,Niclas,Kårlin,redacted@gmail.com
And this is the result
login,firstName,lastName,email,$importStatus
niclas1976@gmail.com,Niclas,Kårlin,niclas1976@gmail.com,Error(s) - Failed to upload row;
I also tried with all the headers and a lot of commas, but the same result.
redacted@gmail.com,Niclas,Karlin,gmail,,,redacted@gmail.com,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Error(s) - Failed to upload row;

Hi @o72ii (o72ii) , Thank you for reaching out to the Okta Community!
You mentioned that " it's mandatory to add a group that I manage. " - so I assume you are not a SuperAdmin for the tenant.
The following article might explain what you are experiencing:
Group Admin is Presented with Error "Failed to upload row" While Importing Users Using CSV
If my answer helped, remember to mark it as best to increase its visibility for other members of the Okta Community who might have the same questions as you.
Hope my answer helps!
