OliverM.78484 (Customer) asked a question.
Hello, we were wondering if it is possible to bypass MFA authentication when unlocking the PC, or at least have a timer on it after the user has authenticated. We are finding that having to authenticate every time you unlock the PC is excessive for us - especially with our low, lock screen time.

Hi @OliverM.78484 (Customer) , Thank you for reaching out to the Okta Community!
To clarify, Okta Windows Credential Provider and Okta Device Access are two different features.
Assuming that you are referring to the Okta Device Access feature - As part of its configuration, you set up an app in the Okta Admin dashboard, called “Desktop MFA”. This now opens up options to configure authentication policies.
Please check what rules you have configured for it under Okta Admin Dashboard → Security → Authentication policies → “Desktop MFA” and consider making a new rule (or multiple) in accordance with your requirements.
If my answer helped, remember to mark it as best to increase its visibility for other members of the Okta Community who might have the same questions as you.
Hope my answer helps!

Hello, thank you for your response. I'm actually referring to the Okta Windows Credential Provider. Do you know how to stop it from requiring authentication on unlock?
Something similar would apply, only that it’s called “Microsoft RDP (MFA) app”.
If you are on the Okta Classic Engine, app level sign on policies would be under the app's “Sign On” tab.
Regards.
