How to change an attribute for new user creation moving forward, without changing the attribute for existing users?
Hi all! Fairly new to Okta and looking to manage user lifecycle using HR as the source flowing to Okta. I'd like to import all the existing users as a start with all the current attributes remaining as is. Going forward, the username attribute for newly created user will change to a new format. We do not want the username attribute to change for the existing users, only new users. I'm finding some possible approaches in documentation, but if there are any strategies or best practices others have used to solve this scenario I'd love to know them.

You can use Incremental import or set up a different user type for the new ones.
