1tsxw (1tsxw) asked a question.
I am experiencing an issue with custom domain and branding settings in Okta. Specifically, I am trying to configure a custom domain for branding purposes, but I have encountered the following issue:
When attempting to add a custom domain (e.g., "princestrusteducation.okta.com"), I receive an error message stating that the specified domain name is an Okta domain and is not allowed. The error message suggests that I must specify a domain name that I own and can modify its DNS records.
I have checked domain ownership, permissions, and DNS configurations, but I'm still unable to resolve this issue. I need assistance in understanding why this error is occurring and how I can successfully configure the custom domain for branding purposes.
Could you please provide guidance on how to resolve this issue or any potential workarounds? Your assistance in this matter is greatly appreciated.

Hi, @1tsxw (1tsxw)
Thank you for posting on our Community page!
Basically, to customize a domain, you need to input a domain you own.
For customizing an Okta-managed domain or using your own TLS certificate:
Take a look here for more info on customization: https://developer.okta.com/docs/guides/custom-url-domain/main/
Thank you for reaching out to our Community and have a great day!

@1tsxw (1tsxw) Have you try @User16594883467582706479 (Customer Support Online Experience) 's suggest. She told is right, custom domain mean your domain, not the subdomain of okta. all subdomain like xxx.okta.com is belong by Okta.
