w20ed (w20ed) asked a question.

Okta verify cannot scan QR code for a china based user

The user is having Android phone , able to install okta verify app using download option from admin setting. when the QR code is available to scan, the user is not able to scan it .

i used the second method of login using the passcode, i used the company url, then it leads to not available option, you must use Qr code option only

how to resolve it

cheers

Hi @w20ed (w20ed) , Thank you for reaching out to the Okta Community!

Make sure that all software prerequisites are met and that the device time/date zone is set to automatic.

If you are on Okta Classic, there's just one device enrollment at a time supported.

On OIE, the user need to trigger the enrollment of their new device from their Okta End-user settings page.

If they did not intend to have multiple devices enrolled with Okta Verify and this is supposed to be the first enrollment, doublecheck their profile for any previously listed enrollments in case they tried themselves and first then deleted the app and retried without following proper procedure.

If my answer helped, remember to mark it as best to increase its visibility for other members of the Okta Community who might have the same questions as you.

    Hope my answer helps!
