Hi,

Okta for default the attribute to login is userName. It would be possible to use two attributes, ie use username and other attribute. For example:

UserName=pepe@ufv.com

ProxxyADDRES=pepeBJ

If pepe login in okta dashboard, he will use username or proxxyAddres.

How could it be done, is it supported in OKTA?

  • Hi @jenniferp.22565 (Customer) , Thank you for reaching out to the Okta Community!

    To clarify, you cannot use two different attributes for the login into Okta.

    It's always going to be the "login" attribute listed under the user profile.

    If my answer helped, remember to mark it as best to increase its visibility for other members of the Okta Community who might have the same questions as you.

    Hope my answer helps!

    Hi jennifer perez,

    The default format for Okta Usernames is an email address format. However this can be modified on your Okta Admin console using the following steps:

    1. In the Okta Admin Console, navigate to Directory > Profile Editor
    2. Click the Profile button next to Okta Profile (the topmost in the list)
    3. In the attributes list, click on the 'i' button next to the login attribute (topmost in the list)
    4. Modify the Format restrictions from the dropdown > Select None > Save Attribute.
