ms2mc (ms2mc) asked a question.

Need assistance is updating email ids for an application

Hello Team,

We are looking at updating email ids for 1Password application added in Okta, and connected through SCIM bridge.

We tried below scenarios but it did not work as per the expectation -

  1. Updated email address in Okta, it suspended old email id and sent Invitation to new email address.
  2. Tried disabling Create user in Okta, and updated email address, it only suspended the old email id.

Could you please assist us on this.

Thanks,

Aaroma

Hi @ms2mc (ms2mc) , Thank you for reaching out to the Okta Community!

I've checked the Provisioning integration docs and it seems that this is "partner integrated" with reference to their support.

    Pasted

That being said, looking at the appendix , it mentions that the 1Password username is mapped by default to the Okta username/email.

It could be that it's meant to be immutable and the app does not recognize it as an attribute being updated. Instead it tries to create a new user for the new email value being passed.

Their docs also mention having to add pre-existing user groups to a category explicitly used for syncing with Okta to prevent sync issues, so I recommend reviewing those settings as well.

    Reference used: https://support.1password.com/scim-okta/

If none of the above helps, I would recommend reaching out to their support for further insight into the behaviour.

If my answer helped, remember to mark it as best to increase its visibility for other members of the Okta Community who might have the same questions as you.

    Hope my answer helps!
