Group rule evaluation - retriggering rules on users who were previously added/removed

From my understanding a user who is manually added/removed from a group bypasses the trigger of the rule tied to it. If I want to convert user back to being automatically managed in the group by the rule, how would I go about that? Manually deactivating and reactivating the rule doesn't trigger this.

  • Hello @6mcug (6mcug) Thank you for reacting out to our Community!

You will need to remove the user from the group. After that you can manually deactivate and re-activate the rule. Please also check that the user is not added to the exception list.

Please also see our doc on this matter:

Yes! I second the above. Keep in mind if you remove a user from a group that was added by a rule, they will automatically be added to the rule exception. May not apply in your case, but it has gotten me a few times in the past for sure. Hope that helps.
