is there a more easy way to showcase and request e.g. Active directory security groups for the end-user. so that the user from either OIE or OID would be able to select one or more AD groups from a list and request them?

At this time end-users do not have a way to request access to groups, however you can add a Feature Request on our Idea section, for a chance that this functionality to be added in the future.
