0D54z00007QFo35CADOkta Classic EngineAuthenticationAnswered2026-05-01T09:01:18.000Z2022-02-08T15:08:10.000Z2022-02-09T19:39:04.000Z

dse7i (dse7i) asked a question.

Is there a way to enable "device binding" for a select group or run it in analysis mode?

Is it possible to "Enforce device binding for creating sessions" for a select group of users or run in in analysis mode to see who would be affected by turning on the setting?

  • Hello @dse7i (dse7i),

    Thank you for posting.

This is a Security general setting, if you enable this all the users are going to be affected by this, you can not test with specific groups of users as this is a setup you enable for your organization.

Device binding ensures that redirect requests are used only in the browser where they were generated. You can disable this feature for compatibility with Classic Engine, but Okta recommends against it. If you disable this feature, Okta will bypass the checks that ensure state tokens are redeemed only by the actor who initiated the authentication flow.

    Regards,

    Natalia
