jeqpb (jeqpb) asked a question.

Check application fields values without importing all users

Hi!

Context

We are currently working on integrating SAP SuccessFactors with Okta using EC-driven provisioning.

I’ve connected an SAP SF sandbox to our Okta tenant.

In this SAP SF tenant, we have a hundred of test users, configured with their real email address, the same one used in Okta for both username and primary email.

Need

I have to check the SAP SF mapped field values to make sure everything is fine and set up well.

Problematic

The only way I know to check the fields’s values is to run an incremental or full import from the SAP SF Okta application, in the “Provisioning” tab.

If I do this, I believe that it will automatically update the Okta user fields, with the mapped SAP SF user fields, based on email matching.

How can I check the values, without importing, or at least, without automatically updating users fields?

How can I check a SAP SF field value, without mapping it to an Okta field first? Is there a way to “preview” the “values”?

Thank you for your attention!

    Hi @jeqpb (jeqpb),

Thank you for posting on the Okta community page!

I have done some research and you could try to see if you have the options "Confirm matched users" and "Confirm new users" under the Provisioning tab >> App to Okta on the application profile. If this options are not selected, when you will perform an import, all the users will appear on the import tab and the attributes will not be updated unless you are confirming the import of those users. (On the import tab you should be able to see the values of the attributes that are coming in)

Additionally, if the options are not available for this application, you could try to use the preview functionality of the mappings from the profile editor since this way you can check user by user if the correct attributes are being brought into Okta.

The documentation above is for mapping attributes from Okta to App but the preview option should be available from App to Okta as well. I have provided the above doc in order to see where more exactly the preview mappings option is located.
