Can I require a phone number be setup for password recovery?

I am having a large number of our users not receiving the Okta Password Recovery Email. I would like to force users to setup a phone number for SMS password recovery.

 

Can I do that some how?

    Thank you for posting on the Okta community page!

     

    I have done some research but unfortunately I wasn't able to find any information about how to force users to set up a phone number for SMS password recovery, therefore I would assume that this functionality is not currently supported.

     

    I would recommend to submit a feature request in case you would like to see such feature. The best way to file a feature request would be from the community site.

     

    Once feature requests are submitted they are visible to other Okta admins, who can vote on them to provide more visibility. Using this method will allow you to maintain visibility on your feature requests throughout the process.

    Hi

    Your have to enable email as a Self-service recovery option.

     

    On Okta dashboard, go to Security -> Authentication -> Under Password tab, scroll down to Account Recovery, select checkbox for email next to Self-service recovery options.

     

    And you are done!

    Unfortunately, all of the account recovery "factors" are optional. There's currently no way to require a user to provide the necessary information to ensure successful account recovery.
