okta salesforce import issues

Hi, I have a user who had recently left the company and has now rejoined. His role had him working a lot in salesforce, but since his return we are unable to re assign him the tiles. The reason given is that salesforce is not able to be assigned with the same username as someone else. As he has already had an account, he is unable to be re assigned these tiles. My question is if it's possible to re assign him these tiles through okta, without resorting to using a new username.

  • Hello John, thank you for posting on our Community forums !

If there is an Okta user, and a Salesforce user to link the Okta user to, this can be achieved by running an import off Salesforce and matching the incoming user to the Okta account.

Specific import settings need to be in place to ensure the import doesn't automatically match and confirm assignments or new users.

To ensure this is done correctly, I'd suggest you raise a ticket with Okta support for Lifecycle Management.
