How to transfer multiple 2FA codes on Okta Verify to new phone

I got a customer with a new phone who had a dozen 2FA codes on their Okta Verify for various services, is there a way to transfer all these without going through 12 individual 2FA reset processes?

Google Authenticator has an export/import function but I can't seem to find one in Okta Verify.

  • Hello @5ggzo (5ggzo),

Okta Verify works by binding to your physical phone hardware and the installed software instance. Okta Verify only works on one device for each Okta account. Uninstalling Okta Verify, Changing Phones, Transferring or Restoring your Phone Data, using Mobile Phone Cleaning Apps, or Resetting your Phone are some of the things that may result in the binding being broken between your phone and Okta Verify, and you will need to re-enroll your device in Okta Verify. To do this, you’ll need to contact your organization's IT department.

However, you may be able to reset Okta Verify yourself. Check out https://support.okta.com/help/s/article/Resetting-your-Okta-Verify-Token?language=en_US. If you're unable to follow the steps in this document, or the option to select another factor isn't available, I recommend you to contact your IT Department and they will be able to assist you and get you up and running.

    Regards,
