I know we can change the favicon using the custom HTML form
I'm interested in not showing a favicon (okta domain set).
Question: If I don't set the favicon in the html will it defaults to Okta's favicon or none will show?

There is no actual way to remove the favicon but you can change it to a transparent .png file or to one of your onw as described in the article you've mentioned.
If you do not set an icon, in the Widget customization, the default one will be applied.
