DJU.00400 (Customer) asked a question.

Is it possible to phase in Okta Fast Pass without showing the option to all users?

When preparing for the OIE upgrade, the indications were that you could phase in Fast Pass. However, it looks like enabling Fast Pass in the Okta Verify Authenticator gives all users the option to try and use Fast Pass whether or not they have access to it. Is it possible to offer Fast Pass to a pilot group and not show the option to the other users?

  • yes, create a policy and dont show it. if its setup it will just work.

i have a fastpass before the main and a group managing it. makes slow rollout easy.

I tried that in our preview org and a user, not in the group, was still offered Fast Pass when the prompt included all the user's authenticator options. (ie, first attempt or after clearing the browser cache). We have not pushed the Okta Verify app to our devices, yet. So, if a user sees the Fast Pass option and attempts to download and install Okta Verify, they are blocked by a prompt for admin credentials.
