Okta Verify doesn't work alongside Lux

I've been using the Lux app to manage screen brightness settings on my Samsung phone. I noticed several months ago that the Okta Verify app's on-screen buttons didn't work any longer after either the Okta app updated, the Lux app updated, or a security patch was applied. I was still able to use Okta push notifications though because I could respond to the pop-up notifications on my phone.

 

I just updated to Android 11 and the pop-up message notifications no longer offer the "Yes, it's me" link to click. Instead, clicking the message takes me to the Okta Verify app, which doesn't work whenever Lux is enabled.

 

I discovered that the issue was between Okta and Lux by restarting my phone. For a short period of time, Okta resumed working normally, but then after all of my apps loaded, it resumed its failure to recognize screen clicks.

 

Okta Verify needs to be updated to work again alongside screen overlay apps.

    Since the Lux app is blocking Okta Verify from working as intended, the issue might be on the vendor's side.

    However, this will require further investigation and troubleshooting.
