What are you trying to override? You may need to use the expression editor to help override the format. If you could provide more info, it may be easier to help.

I was trying to follow the below steps mentioned in the doc to override okta username but i could not find Override with Mapping in App to Okta tab. So i am not sure how to proceed.
What format of the usename are you looking for? And what app is this for? What options do you see in the dropdown of the green arrow?
@feok4 (feok4) It's Active Directory. The current okta username format is SAMAccountName and i would like to change it to Email Address. The options that i have in drop down are Apply mapping on user create and update and Do not Map.
When you choose the profile, can you select email?
What do you have for the user format under directory integrations?
@feok4 (feok4) I do not see the options for login. But i can the options for all other attributes.
When i click on Username is set by outlook.com(AD), it takes me to the Provisioning tab of AD.
I do have the option of changing the username format from SAMAccountName to Email in Provisioning Tab - To Okta but it does not override the existing username.
I would call support and see what licenses your org is setup for as well as run this situation by them. Did you purchase universal directory as part of your Okta setup?
I am just using the trial version to explore Okta.
