Hi All,
I have a user that I need to removed from the EVERYONE group. By default all users created is member of EVERYONE group and the same as application. I need to remove the user to assign only specific application.
Could you please advise and point me to a correct direction.
Thank you.
John

This is not possible. You will see when you navigate to the group in Okta, the following message:
"Why can't I edit this group?
This group is managed automatically by Okta, so you cannot edit it or modify its membership"
If you're assigning the app to that group, it will go to them. In our org, we are using AD as a master and we have a group in AD called "All Staff" and we assign user apps to that and add people to that group when they're onboarded.
Vlad here with Okta's Customer Support Team, thank you for reaching out to us.
A user cannot be removed from the everyone group. All users are part of this group by default. In order to assign only specific applications to a users, there are two options: One would be creating a smaller group and assign the app to that group, or, another option would be override group assignment. To do that. you need to go to the user's apps tab from the admin panel, click on the edit button, under assignment master select "Administrator (overrides group) and then assign the app individually. I hope this helps.
