User not showing in 365
Hello,

Do you have to assing an account that is in a on prem AD a microsoft license before it will show up in 365?

I mapped a service account from our AD on prem to OKTA and can see it sync fine. However I will not update from OKTA to 365. (Other accounts work fine that have been mapped to an appliaction)

So is it correct to assume that unless this acount is assinged an app it wont show?

We dont want to use a license for this account in 365 as it will be a service account that just needs some Exchange permision to do its job.

thanks

  • Hi Jason,

What you'll have to do is to assign the app (office365) to the user but don't give him any licenses.

Your assumption is correct, if you didn't assign the app to the user he won't show in office365.
