Push Group Rules Following the Same Criteria are not Triggering Push Group Job
Okta Integration Network

Overview

When using multiple rules that follow the same criteria for the triggering of the push group flow, no push is triggered.

Applies To
  • Push Group
  • Provisioning
Cause

The issue occurs because, in the push group configuration, there is no priority selection, as seen in the normal group assignments, which means that all of the rules are evaluated at the same time.

Because push groups do not know how to switch from one rule (even inactive) to the next, the system still detects the groups to be assigned by the inactive push group rule, which causes a conflict with the active rule following the same rule criteria.

Solution

Remove one of the duplicate push group rules and then run a manual push of the affected group(s).

  1. Login to the Okta's Admin Dashboard.
  2. Navigate to Applications > "Affected application" > Push Groups (tab).
  3. Remove one of the duplicate push group rules.
  4. Trigger a manual push of the affected group(s).
