To reset an Okta Verify token, sign in to the Okta End-User Dashboard and navigate to the Settings or My Settings menu. Remove the existing Okta Verify enrollment under the security methods, and then follow the on-screen prompts to re-enroll the device.
Resetting an Okta Verify (OV) token allows users to remove an existing device enrollment and transition to a new device. If unable to log in to the dashboard, contact the organization’s help desk for a manual reset.

How to reset Okta Verify in Okta Identity Engine?
To reset a token in OIE, the end user must remove the existing enrollment under security methods.
- Sign in to the Okta End-User Dashboard.
- Select the arrow next to the username and go to My Settings. The browser redirects to
https://<SUBDOMAIN>.okta.com/account-settings/home. - Click Manage security methods.
- Locate the account for Okta Verify.
- Select Remove to delete the existing enrollment.
- Select Yes to confirm removal and verify credentials to proceed.
- Alternatively, select Set up another to add an additional device if the organization allows multiple enrollments.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup.
NOTE: If a factor enrollment policy is applied to the user and requires Okta Verify, a prompt to re-enroll will appear at the next login.
How to reset Okta Verify in Okta Classic Engine?
To reset a token in Okta Classic, the end user must remove the existing enrollment under settings.
- Sign in to the Okta End-User Dashboard.
- Select the arrow next to the username and go to Settings. The browser redirects to
https://<SUBDOMAIN>.okta.com/enduser/settings. - Click Edit Profile.
- Verify the password and click Verify.
- Verify MFA factor.
- Scroll to the Extra Verification section.
- Locate Okta Verify and select Remove.
- Confirm the removal by selecting Yes.
- In the Okta Verify row, select Set up and follow the prompts to re-enroll the device.
NOTE: Alternatively, if a factor enrollment policy is applied to the user and requires Okta Verify, a prompt to re-enroll will appear at the next login.
