This article details how to globally disable Okta Verify Push Notifications for a tenant. This is possible on both the Okta Classic and Okta Identity Engine (OIE) platforms.

• Okta Verify

While there are various ways to disable factors per application (Classic), or authentication policy (OIE), this procedure will globally disable Push Notification from use in the tenant.

1. In OIE 

   1. Navigate from the Okta Admin Console to Security > Authenticators.

2. From the Setup tab, locate Okta Verify, click the Actions dropdown, and choose Edit.

3. From the Okta Verify configuration page, locate the section labeled Verification Options, and uncheck the option for Push Notification.

4. Then scroll to the bottom of the page and choose Save.

2. In Classic

   1. Navigate from the Okta Admin Console to Security > Multifactor.

2. From the Factor Types tab, click Okta Verify and click the Edit button to the right of "Okta Verify Settings".

3. Uncheck the Enable Push Notification option and then select Save.

NOTE: Once this is disabled, the end user can still use Okta Verify OTP (code).
