Automatically Send Push Notifications for Okta Verify
Last Updated:
Overview
The Okta Verify Auto Push feature automatically sends a push notification for Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) without requiring the user to select the Send Push option. Enable this feature in the Okta Admin Console under the factor or authenticator settings. This configuration streamlines the login process by eliminating the manual prompt for the Send Push action.
Applies To

- Okta Classic Engine

The Okta Verify Auto Push feature is a General Availability (GA) feature for MFA and Adaptive MFA SKUs. If this feature is unavailable, open a case with Okta Support.
After administrators enable this feature, users must select Send push automatically during their next login. Subsequent logins will not prompt for the send push action.
NOTE:
- Organizations must enable Okta Verify as an MFA factor, and users must enroll the authenticator on their devices.
- If a firewall restricts internet traffic, Okta Verify push notifications might fail. To allow connectivity with Google Firebase Cloud Messaging, open ports 5228, 5229, and 5230 on the firewalls. The firewall must accept outgoing connections to all IP addresses in the IP blocks listed in the Google Autonomous System Number (ASN) 15169.
- If the push notification option is unavailable in the edit section for Okta Verify, Okta has not enabled certain feature flags for the organization. Open a case with Okta Support to resolve this issue.
