Adding a New Application to the Okta Integration Network
Last Updated:
Overview
The Okta Integration Network (OIN) contains a list of pre-built applications ready for use. Administrators often need to submit a custom application, such as Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML), OpenID Connect (OIDC), or Lifecycle Management (LCM) provisioning, to the OIN App Catalog. To submit a custom application, an administrator must use the OIN Wizard tool available exclusively in an Okta Integrator Free Plan organization.
Applies To
- Okta Identity Engine (OIE)
- Okta Classic Engine
- Okta Integration Network (OIN)
- Okta Integration Network Wizard
- Integrator Free Plan Tenant
- Custom/Third-party application publishing submission
Solution
How is a new application added to the Okta Integration Network?
Sign up for an Okta Integrator Free Plan organization, access the OIN Wizard in the Okta Admin Console, and follow the step-by-step guidance to build, test, and submit the new custom application.
- Sign up for a free Okta Integrator Free Plan organization instance if an instance does not already exist: Okta Developer.
- Sign in to the organization with the Okta Admin role used to meet the OIN Wizard Role requirements.
- Navigate to Okta Admin Console > Applications > Your OIN Integrations.
- Select Build new OIN integration.
- Follow the OIN application integration wizard with step-by-step guidance on how to start building the new custom application for the integration, perform testing, and submit the application for review and publishing. For full details, please refer to the OIN Wizard Requirements.
For questions or additional support to publish the app integration, please contact the Okta Developers Team directly at developers@okta.com.
NOTE:
- Before starting, please read the OIN Submission Requirements and OIN limitations.
- The Okta OIN team reviews all submissions on a best-case basis. If the Okta OIN team identifies any issues in the initial review and QA testing phases, an email with specific details will be sent. At any point in the process, check the status of the submission on the Your OIN Integrations Page in the Okta Admin Console.
- To edit an existing live OIN app, use the Developer to log in and make modifications. The updated integration must be submitted using the same Integrator Free Plan org that was used to make the original submission; otherwise, the Okta OIN team will reject the update.
- For internal applications, the App Integration Wizard can be used to configure any Secure Web Authentication (SWA), SAML, or OIDC applications.
