How Disabling Provisioning for the Office 365 Application Will Affect the Assigned Licenses in Office

This article answers a question regarding the impact of disabling the provisioning of the Office 365 Integration in Okta.

Solution
Disabling the Office 365 provisioning will not remove any licenses from the existing users in Office 365.
As we can see in the screenshot above, after provisioning was disabled, the user had all the attributes removed from the profile except the External and Immutable IDs.
Re-enabling provisioning will add the licenses and the value for attributes back from the last configuration. This is implemented as a backup measure to prevent SSO and provisioning disruptions in case admins mistakenly disconnect provisioning. Although this is a nice feature, best practices recommend creating a UAT environment for proper testing.
