Deactivated Applications Do Not Appear on the Okta End-User Dashboards
Last Updated:
Overview
End users may report that an application tile is missing from the Okta End-User Dashboard. The missing application tile may be removed due to the application's deactivation, which unassigns all users.
Applies To
- Okta Identity Engine (OIE)
- Okta Classic Engine
- Applications
- Deactivated applications
Cause
An Okta Administrator placed the application into a deactivated state.
Solution
Why do deactivated applications disappear from the dashboard?
Okta intentionally hides deactivated applications from the End-User Dashboard. Even though the application still exists in the directory, Okta does not display the application tile because the deactivation process removes all user assignments. An administrator must activate the application and reassign it to users to make the tile visible again.
